While some FAC team members were in San Francisco for the long weekend, I was in Las Vegas! Not to be left out, I’ve collected a few design tributes to the city of sin. Without a doubt, Vegas has a city-wide identity that everyone can recognize, even if you’ve never been there. It’s full of flashing lights and neon signs and chimes from the slot machines and the Strip has the strangest collection of architecture in one area that I’ve ever seen. Everything is larger than life… 15 of the world’s 25 largest hotels are located on the 4.2 mile stretch (the largest being the MGM Grand with a whopping 6,852 rooms and suites). Check out some typographic tributes to Vegas below (all via Show Us Your Type), plus a video from the incredible Neon Boneyard (basically a huge typographic throwback to vintage Vegas).
