It’s fall, which means VIFF is on, Oscar bate is starting to roll out, and I’ve been filling up my free time watching movie trailers. In addition to prepping my “must see” list, trailers offer the perfect combination of cinema and kinetic type (assuming you’re all caught up at Art of the Title.) The perfect use of Cabernet in Alex Ross Perry’s “Listen Up Philip” is hitting up all the right Woody Allen/Noah Baumbach/Wes Anderson notes for me right now. Fingers crossed the FAC team will find a way to sneak this into a future project.
And as special bonus, the trailer for Paul Thomas Anderson’s “Inherent Vice” final came out, thankfully embracing the sheared neon type that made Thomas Pychon’s original cover all kinds of rad.
