I was introduced to Adam J. Kurtz’s work recently through another illustrator I like, and I can’t get over how much I love the lighthearted voice poking fun at internet culture in his work. It makes you a little more aware of how strange our obsession with social media is, but instead of making you feel guilty, it laughs about it with you. His work is a perfect mix of brutal honesty and brightness, and interestingly exists mostly in the physical (non-digital) world. It’s pretty heartwarming, in a weird way. I can think of a few people I could give those “I love you, but…” buttons to. (It would probably be followed with an apology balloon)
